Our Story

Where it began

I’m Kathryn from Vancouver.
I live with two dogs and an orange cat who treat every piece of furniture as part of their contract.
So... I decided to make that official.

Living with them taught me something simple:
Pets don’t sit around your life.
They sit RIGHT in the middle.

In real life, we share everything.
The couch.
The sunlight.
The 3 AM hallway run.
The entire vibe of the home.

What didn’t work was the pet furniture available to us.
Most of it felt like it belonged in a different home entirely.
Too loud, too bulky, too “pet store,” and not enough “this actually fits my space.”

That’s where Menodora began.
Not from a big idea — just from wanting a home where people and pets can live together naturally, without either side sacrificing comfort or aesthetics.

About the name

Menodora comes from a small, understated flower.

It doesn’t ask for attention, but it feels right where it is.

That’s the feeling we want in our pieces — calm, grounding, quietly confident.

Our belief

We believe pets run the home, so the furniture might as well cooperate.

Good design shouldn’t interrupt real life.
It should feel calm in form, soft in tone, and durable enough for paws, claws, naps and everything in between.

We focus on pieces that stay quiet in the room, work beautifully in daily use, and respect the reality of living together — humans and pets shaping the same space.

For homes designed by people and approved by pets.
